About Me

So this is the second time I’ve ventured onto Ye olde WordPress. My first blog was something that I needed to do to get through horrible, boring, depressing times that everyone has to face. But fortunately the need for it slowly grew smaller and smaller until eventually it disappeared with a poof! And so I decided to get rid of that blog and all the unhappy times it had encapsulated. It’s been a few months but I’ve realised that I’ve been missing something: you guys! I actually really enjoyed meeting people on this site and reading their stories and discoveries, talking to people who I know I would never meet but who helped me nonetheless. And so I thought why not get back on here again! I love writing and now I get to do it because I want to, not because it’s a necessity!

So here I am! As always, I’d much rather keep things anonymous but a few things about me I can reveal. I’m 21 years old and am a student studying social sciences in Birmingham, UK. I’m as single as a pringle and I have a feeling that’s going to feature a lot in this blog as I’m on a constant search for that knight in shining armour. I just came back from Malaysia after one of the most amazing experiences of my life volunteering at an orphanage and I’m hoping that after I graduate in May next year I’ll be going back (touch wood!).

No ‘About Me’ section can be complete without mentioning a few of my obsessions (in the full sense of the word, seriously, I need help):

1) The British boyband The Wanted, or more specifically Jay McGuiness from said boyband. Although he’s had a haircut and his beautiful curls have been cut down to a minimum, he’s still gaaaawjus!

2) The British comedian Jon Richardson. We’re getting married. Fact.

3) Bradley Cooper. Duh.

4) My friends. Seriously, hurt them and I’ll eat you.

5) My family. Ditto.

6) Harvey Specter from the AMAZING show Suits. Mmmmmmmmh

As you can tell, my lack of any form of love interest in my life is having serious implications on my mental health. Perhaps this blog will document the moment when Mr Right enters into my life. Fingers crossed!

Right, I’m gonna finish up now I guess. Just one last thing, a bit more serious this time. I’m not here to see how many followers I can get or how many likes or any of that malarky. That kind of stuff drives me crazy and the fact so many people rely on it and are dependent on the approval of others makes me feel sad and angry at the stupid society we live in that festers these anxieties. I’m guilty of it myself and it’s something I’m trying to fight every step of the way. Rather I’m here quite simply to meet new people and make friends. Cheesy I know right? But it’s true! I love meeting people and learning from them, maybe even offering some of my own advice once in a while too. So if you like that kind of stuff too I’d love to hear from you, I really really would, just drop me a comment!
